Follow The Robin is inspired from memories of the year I spent living in Guernsey. Outside my front door, a robin appeared almost every day. It reminded me of the robin in one of my favourite childhood stories, The Secret Garden. A small creature that seems to arrive quietly and then lead you towards something beyond where you are.
This oil painting shows flowers emerging from darkness, and explores the idea that hope or change does not always arrive dramatically. Sometimes it is something small and familiar, asking us simply to notice it and follow.
